2025 F1 Calendar Announcement

The 2025 Formula One calendar has been confirmed and the Australian Grand Prix will return as host for the season-opener.

Melbourne has hosted the majority of curtain-raisers since joining the circuit in 1996, but for the past three years Bahrain has held that spot.

The Australian Grand Prix last opened the season in 2019 and was due to in 2020, but was cancelled because of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Another early change comes the week after Melbourne in the form of the Chinese Grand Prix.

The race at the Shanghai International Circuit will now form part of a season-opening double header with Australia before the first of next year’s three triple-headers.

Japan, Bahrain and Saudi Arabia make up the first, with the Emilia Romagna GP, Monaco and Spanish GP the second, while Las Vegas, Qatar and Abu Dhabi round out the season.

In a change from the 2024 season, there will be only one Saturday race, courtesy of the Las Vegas Grand Prix.

The calendar features 24 races and will commence in Australia on 16 March and conclude in Abu Dhabi on 7 December. The holy month of Ramadan will be throughout March in 2025, and therefore the Bahrain and Saudi Arabian Grands Prix will be held in April.
